Asking prices escalate as more homes arrive to market

The average asking price for a property coming to market has hit £333,564, increasing by 1.8% in the past month alone.

It is safe to say that the unexpected ‘mini-boom’, which started last year, is continuing well into 2021.

Remarks from Tim Banister, director of property data at Rightmove, stated it’s a ‘’strong sellers’ market’’ and urged those who are nervous about selling to take advantage of the prime market conditions.

He also stated that the strongest position to be in as a buyer, would be those looking to join the property ladder, or those who have already sold their property.

On average, there are currently 49 properties available to purchase per estate agent across the UK, which is a slight decrease from last year, but still indicates a strong recovery for the industry following the pandemic.
